About Us

Better Sleep. Honest Advice. No Fluff.

PleaseSleep is an independent editorial site dedicated to helping you sleep better without overpaying. We research, test, and compare silk bedding products so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

Who We Are

We are a small team of sleep enthusiasts, product researchers, and honest writers who believe that better sleep should not require a luxury budget. We started PleaseSleep after realizing that most silk bedding review sites were either thinly-veiled ads for a single brand or generic listicles that never actually tested anything.

We wanted something different: a trustworthy resource that combines hands-on testing with transparent recommendations. We sleep on the products we review. We buy most of our test products ourselves. And we write about what we genuinely find, not what brands want us to say.

Our editorial team includes people with backgrounds in materials science, consumer product testing, and digital journalism. We bring a research-first mindset to every review and article we publish.

Silk & Sleep Specialist

Sophie is a textile researcher with 8 years of experience in natural fiber testing and evaluation. She leads product evaluation at PleaseSleep, personally testing every silk product for 30–90 nights before review. Her background in materials science informs our testing methodology and Value Score system. Sophie has evaluated over 50 silk products from 12 brands, making her one of the most experienced independent silk bedding reviewers in the industry.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: help people sleep better without overpaying.

The silk bedding market is filled with confusing terminology, inflated marketing claims, and massive price variations for seemingly identical products. A silk pillowcase can cost anywhere from $15 to $130, and the most expensive option is not always the best.

We cut through the noise by focusing on what actually matters: silk quality (momme weight, grade, and material), real-world performance (how it feels, how it holds up), and value (what you get for what you pay). Our Value Score system weights these factors to give you a clear, at-a-glance comparison across brands and products.

We believe that premium sleep should be accessible. When we find a product that delivers exceptional quality at an unexpectedly low price, we say so loudly. And when an expensive product fails to justify its price tag, we say that too.

How We Make Money (Full Transparency)

PleaseSleep earns money through affiliate commissions. When you click a link to a product on our site and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Here is what we want you to know about how this works:

  • Our rankings are never for sale. No brand can pay for a higher position. Our Value Scores are calculated using objective criteria, and our editorial recommendations reflect our genuine opinions.
  • We review products we do not earn from. Not every product on our site generates affiliate revenue. We include competitors in our reviews even when we have no financial relationship with them, because honest comparison requires it.
  • You never pay more. Affiliate commissions come from the retailer, not from you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the store.
  • This model keeps us ad-free. Affiliate commissions allow us to operate without display ads, sponsored content, or paywalls. You get a clean reading experience, and we earn revenue only when our recommendations actually help you.

Our Testing Methodology

Every product review on PleaseSleep is based on real-world testing. Here is how our process works:

1

Acquisition

We purchase most products at retail price using our own funds. When brands send us samples, we disclose it. We test every product we recommend regardless of how we acquired it.

2

Extended Testing

We use each product for a minimum of two weeks before writing a review. For bedding, this means sleeping on it every night and washing it multiple times to assess durability.

3

Objective Scoring

Our Value Score considers silk quality (momme, grade, material), features (closure type, included accessories), user reviews, and price. We weight value heavily because quality-per-dollar matters.

4

Ongoing Updates

We regularly update our reviews and rankings as products change, prices shift, and new options enter the market. Every review page shows when it was last updated.
